Supreme Protector Thread

 Prevent Freespooling

After using SPT138 on a variety of machines we found a "paper brake" solved tension and feed problems. This  un-technical solution is illustrated below:

We use "stars" on some machines, but they often distort and jam the bobbin..

 
For Supreme Protector thread, we cut one or two pieces paper to match the bobbin diameter,

 
...and drop them into the bobbin case.

 
When the bobbin clamp is open, the bobbin shouldn’t overspin when thread is gently pulled.

 
When the bobbin clamp is locked down, thread tension should be noticeable.

 

If you know how to adjust the bobbin case opener, it should be open as much as possible. Allow as much thread freeplay as possible through the throat plate.
